ZAMBIA’S MOST PROMISING MUSIC ARTISTS

By  |

Zambian music has greatly evolved over the years and we have seen some very new and exciting artists emerge and bring their own unique style to the table and many have embraced them, some are well established at the moment and some have so much talent but have not quite gotten the attention they need for their music to fully be out there. Today we take look at some of Zambia’s most promising artists regardless of them being out there or not, this is solely based on their talent and potential.

TOWELA KAIRA

Towela Kaira has been in the music industry for quite some time now and she recently decided to take her career to the next level and has been doing some amazing things, her talent is undeniable and her voice has such great range and her record label Nexus Music seems to understand the kind of artist she is trying to be and they have made magic together. She is one of the artists that stand a great chance at making it on an international front, if she keeps doing what she does she will eventually get there. Her sound is very international and her style is versatile.

PRINCESS NATASHA CHANSA

Natasha Chansa seems to know exactly what she is doing, the thing that makes her special as an artist is the way she seems so organised, from the kind of shows she is found and the kind of artists she chooses to affiliate herself to. Natasha understands the concept of being a brand which many young artists luck and we have witnessed her climb the ladder faster than most because of it. She has quite a beautiful range as she can sing as beautifully as she raps and that has made her unique and special.

KUNKEYANI THE JEDI

Kunkeyani is considered to be the ‘The King’ of new wave and most would agree, he has such great potential to hit the international market and the boy just has ‘good vibes’ and it contagious. He recently signed under Jay Rox and we are excited to see what the two will come up with. His a lyrical genius but somehow still very real and relatable, his definitely one to look out for.

RUTH RONNIE

Not many know Ruth Rony for her music but might know her due to her infamous scandal with Bobby East but the girl can actually sing and she sings well but for some reason her career has never really taken off maybe because she is still associated with the negativity surrounding her but if given a chance she would do extremely well, she is not currently pursuing music actively but her talent was worth the mention.

NEO SLAYER

Neo’s R&B style has taken the country by storm, a country that was only accepting of Roberto when it came to soft R&B music has surprisingly embraced this young man who is brilliant at his vocal abilities. His love songs are so deep and refreshing and he seems to be a good writer as well, that is if he writes his own music, he sounds very seasoned as though he has been doing this for a while and stands a great chance to breakthrough the international market.

XAVEN THE KOPALA QUEEN

Xaven does not have a lot of material out there but she does have a couple of songs and her style of rap is impressive, they are not a lot of female rappers in Zambia at the moment so the platform is literally hers. She has the right image and style and has great potential.

LANJI

Lanji’s music is very unique, she has a sultry indie vibe about her, and her music infuses that with afro and Caribbean, sadly not many know who she is but she is one act that deserves to be watched, she has great vocal range and her style is very versatile. She is definitely a promising artist, she just needs to get out there more.

SAMPA THE GREAT

Sampa is honestly in a league of her own, the level at which she understands art is amazing. She is one of Zambia’s most talented, her rap style is unique, her branding is on point and it is only a matter of time before the young artists scoops herself a Grammy because she is that talented. This list would be in vain without Sampa the great period. Her music is deep, she could be compared to Kendrick Lamar or J Cole.
