ZAMBIAN SONGS THAT MADE 2021 MEMORABLE: PART 1

It has not been an easy year for musicians all over the world during this pandemic, staying musically relevant has been some kind of a challenge with lockdowns happening constantly but the artist still chose to rise above and give their fans music they can sing along to or even dance to. We have compiled a list of some of the songs that impressed us this year and we give a detailed review of the work that was put out.

NEO- LOVE ME AT MY WORST

Neo is an R&B artist signed under Nexus music and his soulful tunes have taken Zambia by storm. He released his single love me at my worst and the song is doing relatively well on most charts, his vocals are on the song are on point, he has great range and is able to hit high notes effortlessly and when it comes to the music video it is well done and clean, very simple and perfect for a love song.

YO MAPS FT MIC BURNA- PICK IT UP

This Yo maps song was and is still a smash hit, the message in the song is very encouraging and a lot of people related to the message about being at a really low moment in life and his urging you to not stay down and keep hoping and keep believing and one day something will come up. The video is very basic nothing much t write about but this is more about the song than anything else.

CHANDA NA KAY FT ABEL CHUNGU-TAKE ALL OF ME

The combination of Abel and Chanda na Kay is a collabo that we did not see coming but it was one of 2021’s greatest collabo’s. It was good to see Chanda na Kay slow down the temple and initially it seems like the worst idea ever but it worked and the song is actually uplifting and has become a smash hit. The video is simple but well done it is definitely in line we the concept of the song.

CHEF 187 FT BOW CHASE- WINGONAWILA KA DAY

Chef 187 is no stranger to hit songs, he is after all the people’s rapper and he maintained all that when he released his new song. It is a feel good song and the addition of Bow Chase just makes everything better, he is slowly getting the recognition he deserves. The music video had some great actors who understood the assignment and we definitely enjoyed the mini movie.

TOWELA KAIRA- LOVER

This song is a very beautiful song, where she is talking about being treated right by the one she loves. Towela had an amazing year this year and released a lot of amazing video’s including this one. The song is great and easy to sing a long to but what was impressing was the video itself, it was well done and looks like they spent quite a bit on it, even the story line was perfect and very much in line with the song, we have witnessed music videos where it had absolutely nothing to do with the premise of the song.

These are some of the songs and video’s that did well in the year 2021 but they are not all of them, tomorrow we shall continue with the count down and add more songs that impressed in 2021.
