ZAMBIAN FOOTBALL PLAYERS MAKING A MARK INTERNATIONALLY

It has been an amazing year for Zambia when it comes to football this year, like most countries, Zambia is very passionate about the sport and it is the biggest sport in the country. This year the country has managed to make a huge mark on the international front and we have witnessed some players bring their A game and do exceptionally well.

This has been a sense of pride among country men and women that have supported these players through and through. We witnessed Enoch Mwepu, Patson Daka and Fashion Sakala raise the bar for Zambian soccer in the last couple of weeks. They have become the countries pride and joy.

Enoch Mwepu who happens to be a midfielder in the premier league club Brighton, the 23 year old recently scored a goal against Liverpool, this was a big moment for his career. Liverpool was in the lead for the most part until he scored the equalizing goal which left the match at a draw but definitely put the player on the spot in a good way, his country and teammates were certainly proud of him.

Patson Daka has been on a roll lately, ever since his coach decided to get him off the bench and onto the field he has been breaking records non stop. The Leicester City player has brought a lot of attention to the club that seemed to have been fazing out and was in desperate need for revitalizing and Daka was just the man to do so. He made history by scoring 4 goals in one single match and on his debut he scored a goal against Manchester United. He has had an outstanding performance and many are watching him, by the looks of things he might even be bought by a bigger team very soon. He is definitely one of the players to watch out for internationally.

Fashion Sakala plays for the Scottish premier club rangers, he is one of the Zambian players making headlines on the international scene. This weekend he scored an amazing hat trick goal that saw his country men and women celebrate him for his work. The republican president of Zambia was among the people that congratulated Fashion for his exemplary work. He has been consistent with his skills on the pitch and has been making his country very proud.

Zambian players are finally getting the recognition they deserve and it is amazing to watch the boys put in their all and get the recognition. Zambia has always paid attention to football it is the most funded sport in the country but now they have to be more intentional about it so that the Zambian national team can be revived and get back to the way the used to be or even better because as it stands, we have some exceptional players but somehow the team collectively always misses the mark. We hope to see an improved and better national football team soon.
