Agribusiness giant at forefront of event to encourage investment

Vice President Hon. Guy Scott opens the Zambia International Investment Forum in Livingstone

Some 245 delegates attended the Zambia International Investment Forum today (August 20), with sponsors led by one of the nation’s leading business success stories, Zambeef Products.

The two-day event in Livingstone was opened by Vice President Hon. Guy Scott and aimed to cover a wide range of discussion topics, from agribusiness and tourism to creative arts and finance.

Zambeef group chairman Dr Jacob Mwanza was among panellists for the discussion on Agro-processing and the Hospitality Industry, looking at proposals and business opportunities that link the agro-food processing industry and the tourism value chains.

Zambeef was the sole platinum sponsor of the forum, which had as its overall theme Harnessing Tourism Opportunities for Wealth and Job Creation.

Delegates at the forum were given an overview of Zambia’s attractive investment opportunities, networked with local and international participants, and got insights from local and global investors.

Panel discussions included Infrastructure for Tourism; Agro- Processing and the Hospitality Industry; Creative Arts; Finance for Tourism; Ecotourism; Community Based Tourism; Cluster Development and Joint Ventures in Tourism; and Human Skills in Tourism Development.
