Take a walk

Exercise can be a great stress reliever because it helps to release endorphins. Even if you go outside for about five minutes, moving your body will help you mentally.

Take deep breaths

If you are unable to leave, then start doing breathing exercises. Take a deep breath in, hold for a few seconds, then let it all out. Repeat this until your head clears up a bit.

Visualise relief

Visualisation helps in restoring peace of mind, and with practice, you can soon access your “happy place” to feel calmer when stressed.

Try to look at your situation from a third person’s point of view and reframe the experience. If you look at something differently, you may start to divert from your current feelings to a less stressful one.

Keep a diary or a journal to note things down. You can even use your phone to save an entry which you can later add to your diary.

Drink water

Dehydration can also make you feel tired and dizzy, so when you feel overwhelmed, drinking water can help you take a step away from all the feelings. You can also make some herbal tea instead to help with this.
