TOWELA KAIRA TAKES THE ZAMBIAN MUSIC SCENE BY STORM

Singer and songwriter Towela kaira has exploded on the Zambian Music scene, impressing many with her amazing vocal ability and diversity. She is swiftly making her way to the top and has become a force to be reckoned with. Towela is signed under Nexus music, alongside T Sean, Chanda na Kay, Xaven, Yo maps and Chef 187. and she has been giving us hit after hit and we are definitely here for it. Fans have praised her not only for her amazing vocals but also how consistent she has been with releasing international quality music video’s.

Towela fell in love with music at a young age and later discovered she could sing. Born in a family of talent with Hip hop sensations Macky 2 and Chef 187 as brothers, She has always wanted to make her name known and to be identified by her own abilities. Where others would have chosen to ride the cocktails of the famous brother’s, she is working hard on her own ensuring that she is respected as Towela Kaira and not as Macky 2 and Chef 187’s sister. However the brothers have showed tremendous support to their little sister.

She recently released a smashing hit titled Nalema, which featured ‘the king of RnB’ Fjay. This song really showcased both Towela and Fjay’s amazing vocal abilities. The raunchy music video kept fans talking on social media, they were amazed by the 2 singer’s chemistry, some even went as far as assuming that the 2 artist’s were in a relationship because of that. Nalema definitely gained Towela some new fans.

In 2010, Towela joined the University of Zambia and pursued a degree in Microbiology which she completed in 2014. All this time, she still did a bit of music while focusing on her studies. It is after completing her degree that she dived into professional music although not immediately. She backed artists and performed a lot of live concerts. In 2019, she released her first single called ‘Gold’ and it was well received. A while later, she featured in Yo Maps’ song ‘One Day’ which went on to become the biggest song in that year. Towela also worked with her two brothers; Chef and Macky 2. She featured in Chef’s ‘Bon Appetit’ album and had a collabo with Macky 2 called ‘Delay’. Towela has worked with many other artistes such as Bow Chase, Tim and T-Sean. Towela Kaira is definitely here to stay.
