Tom Holland Reveals That He Is Taking A Break From Acting

On the 16^th of February during an interview with CinePOP, Tom Holland confirmed that after filming a television show with Apple, he is confident that he “will be taking a break”. This is not a complete surprise as the actor had previously made comments on needing to take a break to Sky News, when he said, “I started acting when I was 11 and I haven’t done anything else.” His new film ‘Uncharted’ was recently released on the 11^th of February in the UK and is released today on the 18^th of February everywhere else; next, he will be filming an Apple TV series before he disappears from the big screen for an unconfirmed amount of time.

He said during the interview: “I am going back to shoot a TV show for Apple, which I’m really excited about… But I can confidently say that after I finish that TV show, I will be taking a break.”

When talking to Sky News, Tom Holland said, “I started acting when I was 11 and I haven’t done anything else, so I’d like to go and do other things. There’s part of me that feels like it’s the perfect time to jump off the building and swing off into the sunset and let the next lucky young kid come in to don the suit.”

The next project Tom Holland mentioned that he will be working on for Apple is the seasonal anthology series called ‘The Crowded Room’ by screenwriter Akiva Goldsman, “the acclaimed writer who snagged an Oscar for Best Screenplay Adapation in 2001 for ‘A Beautiful Mind’”. It is about people dealing with mental illness and is inspired by the book ‘The Minds of Billy Milligan’ by Daniel Keyes.
