TIPS ON HOW TO CARE FOR AFRO TEXTURED HAIR
Black hair is diverse and often comes in different textures, it is the identity of the black woman and many wear there hair with pride. The expression of beauty using different types of hairstyles has been a long standing of black culture, they use different looks as an expression of who they are but with all this beauty it can sometimes be challenging to take care of Afro hair, without the right care it can become fragile, dry or damaged. Here are some tips on how to take care of Afro hair.

WEEKLY WASH
Washing your hair once a week is recommended because you want to be sure not to remove any oils or products that you previously put and increasing the possibility of drying out the hair and the scalp.
DEEP CONDITIONING
In addition to using a conditioner every time you wash your hair, try out deep conditioning or oil treatment once or twice a month, this adds a good amount of moisture to your hair and making it easier to comb through. In the event that your hair had tangled for whatever reason this will be your chance to easily detangle.
PROTECTIVE STYLING

Protective styling are any hairstyles that completely tuck away the ends of your hair, looks like braids and especially locking your hair in twists, try and keep these hairstyles in for about 6-8 weeks straight just make sure the hair is clean and well moisturized at all times.

“Afro and Curly hair is the driest hair type there is out there, which means the ends are the most prone to breakage, the true secret in retaining length is making sure you are not losing the length at your ends to breakage. Having a regular trimming schedule to get rid of damaged and split ends, regularly keeping ends moisturized to avoid dryness and overall consistent healthy hair care habits got me to where I am today”
