The Wanted Singer Tom Parker Passes Away Due To Brain Cancer

The Wanted singer Tom Parker passed away on Wednesday the 30^th of March at the age of 33 after having been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. The rest of The Wanted band members and the singer’s wife paid tribute on social media, after announcing his passing. The star had previously revealed that he had an inoperable tumour in his brain back in October 2020, since then, he had been fighting the tumour and sadly lost the battle two days ago. 

Thomas Anthony Parker, known as Tom Parker, was an English singer known as a member of the British boy band The Wanted. The group debuted with their first single “All Time Low” in 2010 and debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart. After a few more singles such as “Heart Vacancy”, “Lose My Mind”, “Glad You Came”, “Warzone”, and “Walks Like Rihanna”, the boy band announced their decision to split at the beginning of 2014.

After The Wanted went their separate ways, Tom Parker participated in several solo projects, such as collaborating with Richard Rawson on the track called “Fireflies” in 2014, and taking part in Celebrity MasterChef, reaching the semi-finals. In 2015, the star released his own solo single titled “Undiscovered”, along with some tour dates for fans. He was also cast as Danny Zuko for the UK tour of the musical ‘Grease’.

In 2018, the singer married his wife Kelsey Hardwick and had a daughter in 2019, and a son in 2020. It was in October of 2020 when Tom Parker announced that he had been diagnosed with an inoperable grade 4 glioblastoma. Last year in November 2021, he updated his brain tumour being stable, saying “had the results from my latest scan … and I’m delighted to say it is stable”.

Sadly, that did not last long as on the 30^th of March, he passed away. The rest of the boy band members said they were “devastated” by their bandmate’s death, and that they, along with the singer’s family, were by his side when he died.

Tom Parker’s wife Kelsey Hardwick wrote on Instagram:

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side. Our hearts are broken, Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence. We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom’s light continues to shine for his beautiful children. Thank you to everyone who has supported in his care throughout, he fought until the very end. I’m forever proud of you.”
