Former Strictly Come Dancing Star Oti Mabuse Is Set To Host New Dating Show Called Romeo & Duet
Former dancer from Strictly Come Dancing, Oti Mabuse, is set to host a new seven-part dating series on ITV called Romeo & Duet, created and produced by Goat Films and developed by brothers Ivor and David Baddiel.
The show is filmed at dock10 studios in MediaCity, Salford, and gives contestants the opportunity to sing one song to “entice a singleton down from the balcony”. The newly formed couple will then go to a duet-date, learn a duet, and return later in the show to perform in a singing competition against the other couples. Once the crowd has chosen their best couple, they get “whisked off for another” duet-date. By the end of the series, one couple will be crowned winners.
Throughout this show, Oti Mabuse will be hosting on stage alongside musical director Vikki Stone and her live band Vikki Stone & The Heartbeats.
Romeo & Duet is set to start airing at 7pm UK time on Saturday 16th of April on ITV and ITV Hub.

Boris Johnson Pays Fine For Lockdown Party And Apologises

Boris Johnson, his wife Carrie Johnson, and Chancellor Rishi Sunak were fined by the Metropolitan Police for breaking lockdown rules in June 2020. Although opposition politicians have called for the prime minister and chancellor to resign, Boris Johnson has refused and said he would not.
The lockdown party in question was Boris Johnson’s own birthday party that he attended in the Cabinet Room in Downing Street in June 2020. He said, “I have paid the fine and I once again offer a full apology. I want to be able to get on and deliver the mandate that I have, but also to tackle the problems that the country must face right now. I believe that it’s my job to get on and deliver for the people of this country and that is what I’m going to do.”
While being asked about the birthday party during strict lockdown rules, Boris Johnson said, “In all frankness, at that time it did not occur to me that this might have been a breach of the rules.” However, after the fine he “now humbly accepts” he did breach COVID-19 laws.
All three people – Boris Johnson, his wife Carrie Johnson, and Chancellor Rishi Sunak – who were issues fines have understood to have paid £50 each, “a reduced rate as the fixed penalty notices were settled within 14 days”.
Chancellor Rishi Sunak offered an apology and said he would not resign, saying, “I understand that for figures in public office, the rules must be applied stringently in order to maintain public confidence. I respect the decision that has been made and have paid the fine. I know people sacrificed a great deal during Covid, and they will find this situation upsetting. I deeply regret the frustration and anger caused and I am sorry. Like the prime minister, I am focused on delivering for the British people at this challenging time.”
According to Sky News, Boris Johnson “has become the first sitting prime minister to receive a punishment for breaking the law”.
Drivers Warned That They Could Be Fined For Having A Messy Car

Drivers are being warned that the level of cleanliness of their car can now lead to issued fines; while there is no law stating the condition of the car can lead to paying a fine, if it becomes a safety hazard and poses a risk to the driving ability, then it is against the law. This rule also applies to the cleanliness of the car, for example, if the windscreen is too dirty to see properly or if the number plate is hard to read, then there may be fines to face.
Although it may not seem serious, the fines are treated as a £100 “on the spot” along with any further punishment required, such as three penalty points from the driver’s licence. The most serious case would see a £2,500 fine or even a driving ban.
Halfords car cleaning buyer, Jamie Louram, spoke to Express saying, “Whilst there is no fine for having a messy interior, clutter if bad enough can also fall under the careless driving rule leading to a fine of up to £100. As a general rule, keep your car clutter-free to avoid any dangerous situations such as things getting stuck under the brake pedal or blocking your view. If you do tend to err on the side of messy when it comes to your car, a bin is a great solution. Any kind of dirt or grime on the windscreen can be incredibly dangerous as it can impact your view of the road ahead In some instances having a dirty windscreen could be seen as careless driving and land motorists with a fine of up to £100 and points on the licence if an accident occurs as a result. Grime can build up on the windscreen over time, so give it a good wash to ensure visibility is at its optimum whilst out on the roads.”
