Soccer legend Christopher Katongo and Zambian Breweries Country Director Jose Moran celebrate the launch if this year’s Castle Africa 5s in Lusaka.

LUSAKA, ZAMBIA – Zambian Breweries’ Castle Africa 5s tournament is back, bringing soccer players and fans together for an even bigger and better opportunity to reach the continental finals scheduled for Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

This year’s tournament was officially launched this week in Lusaka with soccer legend Chris Katongo as the star attraction.

Zambian Breweries country director Jose Moran has put his weight behind Zambia’s soccer talent, saying: “We know Zambia has the skill and the talent to take this tournament by storm. Our goal is to bring people together for a better world, and it all comes together with a Castle when friends meet to have fun and play football.”

“Zambia has great talent in soccer; I encourage everyone to enter in this year’s tournament as it’s bigger and better. Get your team together and ready for the Castle 5’s local tourney.”

Zambia’s hosted the inaugural Castle Africa 5s five-aside tournament last year when South Africa’s Milano FC were crowned the ultimate champions after defeating the tournament hosts, Stout One FC of Zambia 3 -1 in the final.

This year’s addition to the initial group of six countries will see the inclusion of new markets namely, Ghana, Nigeria and Uganda. This cements Castle Lager’s role of creating and sustaining friendships beyond borders.

The ultimate winners walk away with an all-expenses paid trip to a Ligue 1 match in Milan, hosted by the renowned legend Samuel Eto’o.
