PROFLIGHT LOWERS FARES ON KASAMA AND MFUWE FLIGHTS TO LIFT TOURISM
Lusaka, Zambia – Proflight Zambia has slashed airfares with its K699 special promotional deal on Lusaka-Mfuwe and Lusaka-Kasama flights to coincide with the upcoming safari season. Tourism is a huge industry in Zambia with the potential to become the country’s most dependable source of income, but there is need to dynamically promote travel. That is especially true of domestic tourism through promotions that encourage more people to go sightseeing in this beautiful country, said the airline. To support this, the airline, in its efforts to boost tourism in the country, has come on board to help and supports domestic tourism through the introduction of more discounted and promotional flights. The promotional flights on Proflight’s Lusaka-Kasama and Lusaka-Mfuwe, or vice versa, enable tourists and business travellers to benefit from the super-low fares now available on these routes.
Proflight Zambia’s director of government and industry affairs, Captain Philip Lemba, said: “Proflight has put up a sale on its Lusaka to Mfuwe and Kasama routes with a huge drop in the price, K699 one-way, excluding taxes, to enable more travellers to connect for tourism and business.
“We have the safari season coming up and to celebrate its start, we are offering a great discount. This is a great way of encouraging people to actually explore Zambia and its many delights.” The special fare is available on limited seats between now and May 15. The flights are valid for either one-way or return itineraries and can be combined with any other available fare. Capt Lemba added: “The super-low fares will allow more tourists and business people to save on time and boost convenience.”
Kasama and Mfuwe have become top destinations with tourism and business activities increasing over the years. Kasama, the capital of the Northern Province, has benefited from infrastructure and industry development that is creating vast opportunities for locals and tourists alike and Kasama Airport is currently undergoing an upgrade to enable it to accommodate larger aircraft. While Mfuwe is such a beautiful place that National Geographic recently hailed it, placing it in their top 10 amazing trips to make in the autumn of 2017. The main settlement of the South Luangwa National Park in the Eastern Province of Zambia, Mfuwe is renowned for its wealth of wildlife, from the elephants who feast on wild mango and hippos that crowd the river, to rare Thornicroft giraffes and even leopards.
The Proflight promotion is not applicable to other promotional packages such as the child or youth discounts. And the fare is only available for sale within Zambia. The promotional flights will encourage local frequent travel by air, as flying is the most convenient and quickest way to travel and do business. The Zambian airline has made efforts to make sure flight fares are stabilised, especially on domestic routes, through its Mbasela Club frequent flyer programme, flight discounts and promotions.
