Productivity Hacks for Everyday Tasks

We often assume that a productive day means getting a lot of tasks completed, when in fact, productivity is more about the measure of efficiency of an individual; it is about each task being completed consistently by maintaining a steady and average speed, rather than going at the maximum speed on every task each day. As we all know time management is a real skill and it can be difficult to juggle multiple duties at once, so in order to stay productive and manage time as best as you can, I put together the best tips that I could find for you to uncover what works best in your everyday routine.
- Use the pomodoro technique
This is a method developed in the 1980s that has been tried and tested in a variety of settings, resulting in many positive results. It is based on splitting your tasks up and assigning them into 25 minutes time slots, which helps you to concentrate on one task at a time to complete it as efficiently as you can. After the 25 minutes, you can either move to the next task or you can take a break, that is completely up to you.
2. Get rid of third-party distractions
Having your phone nearby can be comforting, because you do not want to miss any messages or calls; however, it is your biggest enemy when trying to complete important tasks. Instead, why not leave the phone at the opposite end of the room? Doing that and putting it on ‘do not disturb’, which usually has key features of excluding calls or messages from certain people if you need, can be very helpful in terms of allowing you to fully concentrate on your tasks without distractions.
3. Use the five-minute rule
Whenever you find yourself with a task or a chore, ask yourself whether it will take more than five minutes or not, and if the answer is no, then the best thing to do is complete it right away. It is never a good idea to allow smaller tasks to pile up, as they can also become much bigger and harder to complete later on.
4. Take breaks but keep it effective
Taking breaks is one of the most important steps to take in order to avoid overworking yourself; nonetheless, it is also essential to know how to spend time when taking your break, because you want to decrease the chances of stress, but you want to make sure that you are also prepared to get back into work straight away. The best thing to do is to have your meal, depending on the time of day, or just have a healthy snack, then use the rest of your time to actively move your body. This does not have to include exercise; it can be as simple as taking a walk around your house, because if your body is moving, your brain will stay energetic and be ready for your next task right away.
5. Create a dedicated workspace
This is crucial if you are working from home, because staying at home has a bigger risk of getting distracted, which leads to being unproductive. Creating a space with just you and your work will stop this and allow you to fully focus on the tasks at hand, as well as give you no excuses to let your mind wander to the different things in your room.

Some of these hacks may not work for everyone, but if you try them and see what works best for you and your daily schedule, then the rest is up to how consistent you are with these methods. The emphasis here is on how badly you want to change your habits in order to become more productive, because it all comes down to hard work and focusing on your methods to stay productive. Your performance will improve a lot if you find your flow and start managing your time productively!
