PETRONELLA MUSOLE GETS HERSELF A GOLDEN GLOVE AWARD
Copper queens coach Petronella Ngambo Musole won the golden Glove award at the 2021 COSAFA women’s championship, she lead the copper Queens to bronze medal finish in the tournament. Musole’s exceptional performance had her walking away with the golden glove award, she has had an outstanding performance throughout this tournament and she has made her country proud.
The Copper queens took on Banyana which is the South African national team on Sunday and the match ended 4-3 in favor of Zambia, the match was pushed to penalties which ended in a victory for the copper queens. This victory came two days after losing their semi-final to eventual winners Tanzania at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium in Gqeberha.
The following players all scored goals during the penalty shoot out, Patricia Lampi, Esther Namukwasa, Milika Limwanya and Lushomo Mweemba who happened to get herself the title of player of the match. The Copper queens were able to emerge victorious despite the disappointment of missing out in their second final in two years.
Musole has been a consistent feature in the Copper Queens team since her first call in 2014, She won the hearts of the people in a splendid performance at the Under 17 FIFA world cup in Costa Rica last year in an international friendly match for Zambia against Chile.
The Copper queens team is scheduled to face off Malawi in a few days at the Africa women cup of nations qualifier.
