New Updates Coming Soon on Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0

By  |

‘Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ will be getting a free major update on the 5th of November, much to the delight of all Animal Crossing fans who felt they had nothing left to do on the island; this free content update comes along with an additional interior design-based DLC called ‘Happy Home Paradise’ that players can purchase for only $24.99, though if you opt for the new Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack service, the ‘Happy Home Paradise’ DLC is included free of charge as part of the annual fee that you have to pay for this service.

The Animal Crossing DLC update includes a series of different islands that the player must customise to suit the islanders’ taste, which is a concept similar to the 3DS ‘Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer’; Lottie, a returning villager, tasks the player with new duties that earns a brand new currency called ‘Poki’ that is exclusive to the ‘Happy Home Paradise’ section of the game. The level of customisation achieved through this DLC is remarkable and allows much more control in arranging the space that is available to each player.

The free content update for ‘Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ is announced to be the final major update by Nintendo, and with so many new additional features, lots of players who had stopped playing the game after a burn-out will be returning once again to their island to experience all the new activities they can from the 5th of November.

Here is a breakdown of all the new updates coming to New Horizons:

  • Brewster and The Roost – The coffee shop will be available to grab some coffee for yourself, sit down with other island residents for a cup, and use the amiibo phone in the shop to call in anyone you want using amiibo cards and figurines for a sit down with your hot drink. You will also be able to invite your friends over, as well as other players online who pop in to see your island.
  • Kapp’n – Found at the beach where he parks his boat, you can now jump aboard and not only get serenaded to, but also get taken to a random island to visit; the time of day and season will differ each time so make the most of this once you start going.
  • Gyroids – Gyroids can be found in the ground just as fossils are found; bury them again and water the gyroid to find a unique furniture gyroid the next day. They all emit a variety of different sounds and tones, and can also be customised to match the aesthetic of your room.
  • Harv’s Island – Previously, Harv’s Island was just a photoshoot set, now, it is seeing some significant renovation work in the form of new shops with familiar friends like Leif and Kicks, who will open little trailer shops for players to explore. To open all the trailers available, players must donate certain amounts of ‘Bells’, the Animal Crossing currency, for each trailer spot.
  • Cooking – Islanders will soon have the opportunity to begin cooking by growing crops and collecting ingredients; then, you can either eat the food, or use it for decoration around your house.
  • Storage Space – Storage space will go from 2,400 slots to 5,000 slots, a big upgrade that is helpful to everyone collecting different clothing items and furniture but has currently run out of space. The 5,000 slots can be achieved by upgrading your house three times, each time will increase the storage space slowly working up to the 5,000 storage space slots.
