NADIA NAKAI LAUNCHES HER OWN RECORD LABEL

By  |

South African female rapper Nadia Nakai has launched her own record label which she is calling Bragga records. The rapper earlier let fans know that she had big plans of becoming a boss and eventually owning her own record label and today her plans are now a reality.

Many South Africans have expressed what a great achievement this is considering the fact that very few women own their own record label and Nadia is relatively new in the music industry and for her to be making such strides is amazing.

“I’m so excited about the next chapter of my life. Here’s to officially starting my own record label Bragga Records,” wrote Nadia in her Instagram post.

The rapper was previously signed by Casper Nyovest under his record label Family tree, Casper has been very instrumental in Nadia’s career and she appreciates all his efforts towards her and this decision was very difficult for her as she grew fond of her previous label but also understood the importance of growing into her own. Casper has been very supportive in her decision.

“I am not with The Tree anymore. I am working on my own record label. It was very tricky because when I had the conversation with Casper, I was so scared to talk to him. I could feel he was sad, and I think he hung up on me, to be honest, but later messaged me,” shared Nadia during the interview.

Bragga is currently signed to Def Jam Africa Recordings Africa, but it seems fans can expect her to release new music under her label.

What an amazing thing it is to see women winning in various ways, Nadia’s step into a new territory is very encouraging as she is still young but she has not let that hold her back and Casper Nyovest has been ore than a good mentor for her so this journey is most likely to be a success.
