MOST MEMORABLE GREY’S ANATOMY SCENES

Grey’s Anatomy has been on our screens for years now and for fans of the show it has been such an emotional roller coaster, Shonda Rhimes has made sure to not spare the viewers when it comes to creating moments that they will never forget, some of these scenes left viewers in disbelief even long after the season or episode had aired. The show has way too many memorable moments but here are six most memorable moments.

1. When the doctors realized the the ‘John Doe’ was George O’malley

This was one of the most heartbreaking moments of the show if not the worst, watching the doctors realize that the John doe was actually their beloved George, the way the suddenly switched and tried everything to save Georges life. Watching George write 007 on the hand of Grey and her realizing that only George could have written that, this was so sad to watch, they had been looking for him and never thought he could be the John doe. One notable thing was the bond that George shared with Grey to the point that he knew by him writing that Grey would instantly know it was him. This was the first big death of the show as George was one of the original interns, that is why his death cut really deep.

2. Dr Burk Left Cristina at the Altar

Cristina Yang has always been hesitant when it came to matters of commitment, it was such a beautiful thing to see her fall in love with Burk and everyone believed that the two would definitely walk down the aisle but Burk decided that he could no longer go through with the wedding and decided to leave her at the alter waiting for him. Grey was left comforting he friend and this was a heartbreaking moment for viewers.

3. Cristina and Meredith’s Friendship

This kind of love and loyalty is usually reserved for a love interest especially on television but Meredith and Cristina’s friendship played out so well, the two were real friendship goals. It was beautiful to see how Cristina does not let herself be vulnerable with anyone else but her trusted friend Meredith and Cristina was the only one who knew how to get Meredith to stop crying, even Derek was unable to get her to stop. This beautiful display of friendship would always bring joy especially that the show is filled with so many heartbreaking memories.

4. Denny’s Demise

Izzie fell madly in love with her patient Denny an effortlessly charming individual, the patient was in hospital for a really long time as he awaited a much needed heart transplant throughout the second half of the season two. She had a crazy idea to to cut his LVAD wire so she could move him up the transplant list but the plan eventually failed and eventually resulting in his death, it was so unbelievable and at this point it gave fans the much needed realization that Grey’s Anatomy was not here to give them a happy ending.

5. The Shooting

This episode was one of the most disturbing ones in the history of Grey’s , In the season six finale, we witnessed a grieving husband of a deceased patient arrive at the hospital with a fully loaded gun, this man had nothing left to live for and was out for blood. This episode left a few doctors killed, several were injured and who can forget the scene were Bailey was being dragged by her feet out of a patients bed, the way the episode was going it was unclear if she would make it but luckily she did.

6. The Death of Derek Shephard

To say this was painful is an understatement, literally no one saw this coming, Derek Shepherd was killed off, what made this experience so heartbreaking is the fact that he had just come from rescuing a family off the side of the road and the producers wanted viewers to believe that was it but little did they know that more was in store. After he helped save a strangers life he drove off and had a head on collision and was rushed to a small clinic with doctors that did not really seem to know what they were doing, no one could have ever thought that this moment was the end for Derek, viewers genuinely believed that he would survive but alas.

There have been so many moments in the show that have brought so much joy for the viewers but we can all agree that majority are the scenes that broke the hearts of the viewers but the show has been going on for over a decade now it is safe to say that fans of the show should be used to the emotional roller coaster by now. It has still remained one of the best shows on television.
