Little Mix Announce They Are Going On A Break But Promise They Are Not Splitting Up

On the 2nd of December 2021, Little Mix went on Twitter and announced that they are going on a break following their upcoming Confetti tour in April and May. Last year in December 2020, Jesy Nelson exited the band, which is when fans already started speculating that the rest of Little Mix will soon follow lead and start parting ways. After the recent weeks of rumours surrounding the band’s break up, Little Mix finally announced that rather than breaking up, they are all going on a break and focusing on solo projects. Many fans commented that they saw this coming, but it is still sad for it to be made official.

The three current members Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, along with ex-member Jesy Nelson, first found fame after joining the British show The X Factor in 2011. Although they auditioned as soloists, they ended up joining together as a group and finished first place on the show, becoming the first group to win The X Factor in the UK. Fast forward and it has now been 10 years, but instead of celebrating more years to come as a group, news of their break has gotten fans talking about how this is the same situation as what happened with One Direction.

The three members released a statement on Twitter saying, “We wanted to let you all know that after the Confetti tour in April/May next year we are going to be taking a break from Little Mix. It’s been 10 amazing years, a wonderful non-stop adventure, and we feel the time is right to take a break so we can recharge and work on some other projects. We can’t thank you enough for your love and never-ending support since the beginning. We love you all SO much. We are not splitting up – Little Mix are here to stay Dizzy symbol We have plans for more music, tours and performances in the future. We’ve made so many incredible memories with you all, and we can’t wait to make so many more. We’re sisters and we’ll always have each other and you, the fans, in our lives. Little Mix is forever Heart suit See you on tour! Jade, Leigh-Anne and Perrie x.”

Focusing on solo projects seems to be the main reason for taking a break as a group, as recently, Leigh-Anne Pinnock has made her acting debut in the holiday romcom ‘Boxing Day’, starring alongside the ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ star Aja Naomi King and Aml Ameen.
We can only wait to see what else the three girls have in store for us as they venture into their other solo projects, so keep a look out for that!
