The 37th Film Independent Spirit Awards took place on the 6th of March 2022 and honoured the best independent films and television series of 2021; presented by Film Independent, the ceremony was held in-person and was hosted by the married couple Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman. Some huge winners were announced during the event, such as Maggie Gyllenhaal being awarded the top prize for Best Feature for the film ‘The Lost Daughter’, so to find out more, read on and see who won within each category.

The award ceremony was held on the beach in Santa Monica, airing on IFC and AMC+. Traditionally it is usually held the Saturday before the Oscars Awards, but after going virtual in 2021 and airing three days before the Oscars, this year, it aired three weeks before the Oscars award ceremony.
