The teaser trailer for ‘House of the Dragon’, a prequel of the popular television series ‘Game of Thrones’, was released yesterday on 5th October 2021. The prequal is set 200 years prior to the events of ‘Game of Thrones’ and tells the story of House Targaryen and the Targaryen civil war that later became well-known as the “Dance of the Dragons”. HBO has given ‘House of the Dragon’ the usual ten episodes; and is scheduled for release in 2022. Warner Media Executive Vice President and General Manager Andy Forrsell, further announced during a launch event that HBO Max Europe shall be rolling out from 26th October in Spain, the Nordics and Andorra.
In the trailer of ‘House of the Dragon’, we are given glimpses of various fight scenes, as well as the voiceover by Prince Daemon Targaryen, played by Matt Smith (Dr. Who, The Crown). The series will focus on the infamous event known as the “Dance of the Dragons”, which is a civil war that took place between the siblings Aegon Targaryen and Rhaenyra Targaryen over the throne after the death of their father Viserys Targaryen.

The commencement of production for ‘House of Dragon’ was announced on the 26th of April 2021, and like it’s predecessor ‘Game Of Thrones’ which is based on George R.R. Martin’s book ‘Fire & Blood’ is a part of the series of books that are within the same world. If it will be anything like the early seasons of Game Of Thrones and this time hopefully all the way to the last season, then we sure have an exciting watch journey ahead of us.
Created by George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal, ‘House of Dragon’ filming begun in the last week of April 2021 in Cornwall United Kingdom with other primary filming locations being, Spain and California. The series will be lead by Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan serving as co-showrunners, as well as executive producers alongside George R.R. Martin and Vince Gerardis.
HBO Max is making its way into Europe from the 26th of October 2021 with initial countries Spain, Andorra, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden listed as the first countries to start receiving the service. Following this, the next countries to receive the service from the beginning of 2022 shall be Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
Likely one of the most anticipated series in a long time due to the Game of Thrones Fandom, and the prolific writing of George R.R. Martin; the series of books brought to the screen, have certainly added to the legacy of ‘A Song Of Ice And Fire’.
