HBO Max Launching In 15 More European Countries

WarnerMedia announced yesterday on Tuesday the 1st of February that HBO Max is preparing to launch in 15 more countries across Europe on the 8th of March 2022; unfortunately, this will not include the UK. Later this year, the streaming service will further expand to six other European countries, including Greece and Turkey, but if you are waiting for news on HBO Max being available in the UK then you may have to wait until Sky or HBO release a statement regarding their contract with each other. According to news shared by the parent company AT&T, HBO now reaches 73.8 million global subscribers as of the end of 2021, so with the upcoming launch in other countries, the number of subscribers is bound to increase even more.

Johannes Larcher, the head of HBO Max International, said in a statement, “The global roll out of HBO Max continues at pace as we launch the platform in 15 additional European countries, taking us to 61 territories worldwide. We are delivering on our strategy to go direct-to-consumer around the world which coupled with our beloved content will give us the scale needed to be one of the top global streaming platforms.”
The 15 countries included in the launch are Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Moldova, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

“HBO Max launched in the United States in May 2020 and began its global rollout launching in markets across Latin America and the Caribbean last summer, followed by its first European launches in the Nordics and Spain. Currently available in 46 countries, WarnerMedia plans to continue the expansion of HBO Max in 2022.”
HBO Max is currently live in 46 territories across the Americas and Europe, which will eventually climb to 61 following the wave of European launches. Later this year, the service will further launch in six more countries in Europe including Greece, Turkey, Iceland, and the Baltic countries of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
