Fortune By Fenty As Rihanna Reaches Billionaire Status
Rihanna born Robyn Rihanna Fenty, singer turned business woman, has become a billionaire according to Forbes.
Having graced the scene in May 2005, with her debut single, ‘Pon de Replay’ which reached number 1 on the Billboard Dance Club Charts, and with her debut album ‘Music Of The Sun’ in August 2005 which debuted at number 10 on the Billboard 100 and was Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and selling over 2 million copies worldwide. This marked the beginning of an amazing career that has had Rihanna on the road to success and more success which has included her breakthrough with hit single ‘Umbrella’ featuring Jay Z from the album Good Girl Gone Bad. ‘Umbrella’ topped the charts in 13 countries and remained at number 1 in the UK for 10 consecutive weeks.
Rihanna has since gone on to release 8 studio albums, launched an acting career and has had a successful business career with her fragrances, clothing and beauty brands Fenty, Savage Fenty, Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin respectively. With her ownership of 50% of Fenty Beauty It is within her business acumen that Rihanna has earned herself the billionaire status. According to Forbes Rihanna is now worth $1.7 billion making her the wealthiest female musician in the world and second only to Oprah Winfrey as the richest female entertainer.
Estimated by Forbes at a conservative $2.8 billion, Fenty Beauty is leading the charge in providing Rihanna her billionaire status where Fenty Skin has been reported by LVMH in its annual report as “very promising start” and that Fenty Beauty “maintained its appeal as a premier makeup brand.”
Having created a space within the fashion and beauty industry that is more accommodating to individuals from all walks of life; Rihanna’s brand of clothing, skin care and make up, has cemented its place amongst the world’s most renowned major fashion brands and can be found in more than 17 countries around the world.
With a valuation at $1 billion from a February fundraiser of Savage X Fenty which raised $115 million it is no wonder Rihanna’s venture into the entrepreneur world have cemented her the position she is in now.
