Emirates, which flies daily direct from Lusaka to Dubai and Harare, has given a lucky shopper the chance to experience the fun and excitement of Dubai.

Kwela Mwambwelwa’s weekend trip to Manda Hill is turning into a shopping trip to remember after he won the airline’s promotional raffle draw this week, winning two Economy Class tickets to Dubai that were presented to him at the Emirates’ office in Acacia Park by Country Manager Husain Alsafi.

Mr Mwambwelwa, who is originally from Tanzania but now lives in Lusaka, plans to take his wife Rose Nayame on the trip. The couple has two children and are both businesspeople and traders. It will be their first flight with Emirates, and their first time to visit Dubai.

“I love my wife too much so we will go together. I am looking forward to exploring and finding out about Dubai, meeting different people, and for trading; I am very lucky; I used to win things. When you want to be lucky you have to be close to your family,” said Mr Mwambwelwa

Mrs Nayame accompanied her husband to receive the prize as she admitted she didn’t believe he had won. “I told him, it’s April so maybe they fooled you!” she joked.

Dozens of shoppers took part in the raffle, which was held over two consecutive weekends last month at Levy Junction and Manda Hill, where Emirates set up a stand to enable shoppers to discover more about the airline’s products and services.

The Emirates team also talked about what Dubai has to offer as a leading leisure and business destination that has something to offer everyone.

The airline flies to more than 140 destinations in 80 countries through its Dubai gateway.
