Emirates brings Copperbelt fares into line with Lusaka
Proflight tie-in enables fare equality whether travelling from Ndola or Lusaka
Travellers from the Copperbelt have been warmly welcomed into the Emirates worldwide network with a new fare deal that enables them to fly from Ndola for the same price as people from Lusaka thanks to the airline’s recent through-ticketing agreement with domestic carrier Proflight Zambia.
The special rates bring fares into line with those for passengers from the capital, enabling customers to catch one of Proflight’s four or five daily flights and link into Emirates’ daily direct service from Lusaka to Dubai and Harare.
“Our latest fare offer for Ndola-based passengers demonstrates Emirates’ commitment to our new partnership with Proflight Zambia and brings Copperbelt residents closer to Emirates’ global network of more than 140 destinations in 80 countries through its Dubai gateway. And it means that customers can enjoy even better value for money when they purchase their Emirates and Proflight Zambia flights together,” said Husain Alsafi, Emirates Country Manager for Zambia.
The return fare parity is available for bookings made before May 31 on routes from Ndola to Beijing, Mumbai, Guangzhou, Dubai, London, Perth, Delhi, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Shanghai, but excludes travel to Guangzhou and Hong Kong during the Canton Fair that ends on May 5. The offer is valid for stays of between three days and one month.
Special fares have been made possible following the interline agreement signed in January between Emirates and Proflight that opens up the Emirates network to passengers from across Zambia, as well as making it easier for international passengers to reach domestic destinations throughout the country.
Under the agreement, customers will be able to purchase joint Emirates-Proflight Zambia itineraries and will be issued with a single combined ticket. This will enable seamless connections to and from Proflight’s nine domestic destinations, including: Ndola, Livingstone, Mfuwe, Solwezi, Chipata, Mansa, Lower Zambezi and Kasama, as well as the local airline’s international route to Lilongwe in Malawi, with Emirates’ daily Lusaka service.
Customers will also enjoy a range of added benefits, including special fares to domestic destinations and the same baggage allowance for Proflight customers connecting from Emirates flights.
On the Lusaka route Emirates operates modern Airbus A340-300 aircraft with 256 seats: 12 luxurious sleeper seats in First Class, 42 deep-reclining seats in Business Class and 213 in Economy Class.
EK 713 departs Dubai every day at 0925hrs, arriving in Lusaka at 1435hrs. The service departs Lusaka at 1605hrs, arriving in Harare at 1710hrs. The return flight leaves Harare at 1850hrs, arriving Lusaka at 1955hrs. It departs Lusaka at 2140hrs and lands in Dubai at 0650hrs the next day.
Bookings can be made through the Emirates sales office at Acacia Park, next to Arcades on the Great East Road, online at www.emirates.com, or through any travel agent.
