Daniel Craig Honored with Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Daniel Craig, star of the current James Bond franchise ‘No Time To Die’ as 007 was on Thursday 7th October honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The honour comes shortly after the latest release in the bond series which is also the last time we shall be seeing Daniel Craig take up the mantel as 007 after playing the role for 14 years.

There is a Chinese proverb that says “Good things come in pairs” and this one is a double whammy for Craig as the box office opening for No Time To Die has been recorded to have earned the highest opening weekend takings of any Bond movie in the UK. His departure from the franchise although bitter sweet, has certainly been one for the books as he stated during his speech at the Star reveal; “If happiness was measured by the company we keep then me being on this pavement surrounded by all of these legends makes me a very, very, very happy man. So thank you very much.”

Only a week after the release of his last James Bond movie, Daniel Craig became the 2,704th celebrity to have his name on the Hollywood walk of Fame which cis on 7007 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles United States. During the ceremony which was introduced by Barbara Broccoli, Michael G Wilson and co-star Rami Malek; Daniel Craig said “I never thought I would hear myself say this, but it’s an absolute honour to be walked all over in Hollywood.” He also gave thanks to James Bond producers and his co-star; “To Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, I thank you from the depth of my heart, without you I would not be here today, thank you for those lovely words. Thank you to Rami for those beautiful, beautiful words.”

Daniel Craig 53 joins an array of Hollywood celebrities on the walk of fame who are awarded the honour annually by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce out of a list of applications submitted. Recipients of this honour pay a sponsorship fee of $50,000 to cover the cost of creating and installing the star and for the maintenance of it.
