Daft Punk just released a short video today on Thursday the 14th of April detailing the original storyboard for their 1997 track “Around The World” music video. The video was uploaded on the official, now inactive, French electric duo’s YouTube channel, showcasing the storyboards and including the layout of the video’s iconic stage design, as well as the placement and movement of its dancers.

Check out the video below:

Previously, the “Around The World” storyboards had only been available through Daft Punk’s 1997 DVD ‘D.A.F.T.’; therefore, this marks the first that that the music video’s storyboards are available to view to a wide audience for free now.

The music video was directed by Michel Gondry and features several groups of costumed dancers who make their way across a stage set, each dancer bringing a different vibe and style to the track.

The song “Around The World” appears on the duo’s debut album ‘Homework’, which received a special 25thanniversary reissue in February 2022 with new remixes. Amongst the new additions, nine of them had previously been unavailable on streaming services.

Last year in February 2021, Daft Punk had confirmed their split after 28 years together. The duo consists of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, who had released a total of four studio albums:

  • Homework 1997
  • Discovery 2001
  • Human After All 2005
  • Random Access Memories 2013
