CLEO ICE QUEEN AND PRINCESS NATASHA CHANSA

Cleo Ice Queen releases visuals for the much-loved single “Blessings Come My Way” featuring young superstar Natasha Chansa. The video which is set to premiere on Thursday the 13th of April at 5pm GMT and 6pm CAT on Cleo Ice Queen’s YouTube channel is directed by the talented Lo of Reel Studios, and creative directed by Tio Nason, with Choreography by Tommy Smiley.

The visuals which incorporate a monochromatic theme, somewhat reminiscent of the 1960s, embodies the style of the song whilst keeping you tuned into the lyrics. Making it in the music industry is never without its naysayers and the chorus in the song which is performed by Princess Natasha Chansa, which emphasises the importance of not caring about what people say, because God’s blessings will still come your way, is one that is needed in this era of instafame and social media where fame is placed before hard work, and those working hard who have not made it yet are shamed, be it for not having a large following or the money and “status”. The clean visuals are accompanied with a touch of regality that showcases Cleo in her Queendom, whilst her lyrics reminisce about the journey she has been on that looked nothing like where she is now.

“THE STRIDING MAN” JOINS CLEO ICE QUEEN IN THE VIDEO

In true Cleo Ice Queen fashion, the video incorporates mainly female Zambian dancers and models; something that is near and dear to Cleo Ice Queen, which is empowering young women, and elevating young talent. As well as the young talent making an appearance in the video, the Johnnie Walker brand ambassador is joined by non other than the “striding man” John Walker himself in statue form, which was a caricature of John Walker drawn by Tom Browne. One would say this is the collaboration we never knew we needed, and I must add that it is quite fitting for the song as the “striding man” in addition to being the official logo for the Whisky brand, embodies their slogan of “We Keep Walking” a reminder to continue to be resilient, stay positive and keep moving forward no matter what comes your way.

CLEO ICE QUEEN IS GIVING 1960s IN MONOCHROME

“Blessings Come My Way” is the fourth single from the “Leaders Of The New School” EP under Def Jam Recordings Africa and backed by Johnnie Walker.

Considered by many to be a powerhouse duo and dubbed “The Queen and The Princess” their collaboration is a testament on what paving the way to the new generation looks like, and how two stars can equally shine brightly together and create something truly special.
