CLEO ICE QUEEN BRINGS HOME THE AFRIMA AWARD

By  |

Zambian female rapper Cleo Ice Queen has made her country proud by reigning supreme in the just ended AFRIMA awards and brought home the award for best female southern Africa. Cleo was up against some giants of Southern Africa, Kelly Khumalo, , Amara Brown, Sho Madjozi, Tami Moyo and Trina South and yet she still managed to be victorious.

Cleo was present at the awards to accept her speech in Nigeria, she was visibly emotional as she accepted her award and gave a heartfelt speech in which she thanked God, her Husband, kids and her mom and most of all she has dedicated the award to Zambia who have shown her tremendous support through out this journey.

This was a stiff competition for the Rapper, judging by her acceptance speech you can clearly see she did not expect to take home this award. She was up against people who have a larger following than her so it is such an achievement for her to be able to take the award home.

This will definitely expand her brand and gain her a new pool of fans especially across Africa. Her country is so proud of her, social media is flooded with congratulatory messages to her from her fellow artists to radio personalities as well as her fans, they have all come out in numbers to give the rapper support through this period.

Cleo is not yet back from Nigeria where the awards took place but once she comes she is definitely in for a busy time as most media houses will want to conduct interviews with her and get to hear how her experience was and we just hope she will be ready for all that.
