CHIPOLOPOLO BID FAREWELL TO WORLD CUP

It was a sad day for the Chipolopolo boys who drew against Equatorial guinea in a match played on Sunday the 10th, unfortunately this draw meant the end of the road for the Zambia national team who had hopes of playing in the 2022 world cup. The Chipolopolo boys took up the third slot in their group which was dominated by Tunisia and Equatorial guinea, the two teams ended up qualifying.
Fashion Sakala put Zambia in an early lead when he scored the first goal of the match up until Guinea’s Federico scored the equalizing goal bringing the match to a draw which ultimately meant the end for Zambia. Fashion Sakala had promised to score a goal in honor of his teammate Patson Daka and he did.

Fans of Chipolopolo were proud of the performance that the team put up and congratulated them for giving it their all but however felt that the current FAZ administration let the Chipolopolo boys down as it did not give them adequate training and they are not doing enough to support the boys.
However FAZ president has cited poor match officiating by the referee and is demanding that FIFA look into the injustice that played out against Zambia in the match, the sports minister shares the same sentiments as mr Kamanga and has stated that “such kind of officiating will make African football not develop.” he said this in an interview with ZNBC, an official protest was submitted to FIFA and they await a response.

despite the final result of match not going as expected and some feel that it did not bring out the true proceedings of the game, there are still some positives that can be taken out of the match. FAZ has encouraged that fans continue to give support to the team and should not let this loss let them lose hope.
