Cannes Film Festival 2022

The 75^th Cannes Film Festival is taking place from the 17^th to the 28^th of May 2022, featuring a tribute to actor Tom Cruise whose film ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ is due to premiere at the festival. This event is an annual film festival with an official poster that was designed to pay homage to ‘The Truman Show’ (1998). Making his first appearance in 30 years, Tom Cruise arrived yesterday on Wednesday the 18^th of May at the Cannes Film Festival “in style with fighter jets flying over the venue”. This grand entry was not all as later for the screening of his film ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, Tom Cruise was moved to tears when he received a “six-minute” standing ovation from the audience.

Some big films are to premiere during this festival, including the aforementioned ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, which will bring a lot of excitement to the event and to the audience. Another anticipated film is Baz Luhrmann’s ‘Elvis’ starring Austin Butler as the lead and Tom Hanks as his manager Colonel Tom Parker. George Miller, best known for the Mad Max series, will be there at the festival to unveil ‘Three Thousand Years of Longing’, which is a fantasy drama co-starring Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton.
