BTS Held Their First Live Concert Since The Start Of Pandemic

By  |

BTS experienced an overwhelming live concert as they performed for the first time since 2019, before the pandemic started; BTS member and leader RM said that being on the stage again was an emotional moment, to which the other members agreed to. The KPOP sensation boyband’s first in-person concert had fans from all over the world arriving at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, including all the way from South Korea!

The seven-member group from South Korea held their first of the four “Permission to Dance on Stage” concerts on Saturday the 27th of November 2021. During a news conference before the second concert show on Sunday night, BTS leader RM said, “Seeing all the fans, seeing the stadium filled with all the fans yesterday got me really emotional beyond words.”

The last time BTS performed a live concert was back in 2019, when they wrapped up their last tour from North America to Europe to Asia. After the pandemic started, the band postponed and then called off their what was to be their biggest international tour involving nearly 40 concerts. Instead, they held online shows to make up for it for the fans.

The third concert performance took place on the 1st of December, and tonight, on the 2nd of December, the fourth and final concert show will be held at the same stadium, which is Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. During the concert announcements, Big Hit Music said that “holding an in-person concert in the midst of COVID-19 is not easy”, and they decided on setting the location in the US after “taking the national and regional health regulations and circumstances into consideration.”

The statement released by Big Hit Music is as follows: “It is our deepest regret that we are unable to hold more concerts in more areas. We will do our best to put on additional concerts for not only Korean fans but fans from all around the world who have been patiently waiting for a long time.”

According to the Reuters report, Korean fans in South Korea were divided over the need to travel overseas just to watch their favourite boyband perform live in a concert. YouTuber Kim Ji-eun even said that she had to engage in a “nightly click war” just to secure tickets, though she also said the experience at the concert was a “historic event.”

Being a growing sensation all over the world, it is no surprise that everyone is excited to see BTS live in concert; hopefully there will be more tickets to come in the future with more locations and dates!
