BTS and Coldplay announce new single ‘My Universe’
The highly anticipated collaboration with BTS and Coldplay is coming out on 24th September.
Produced by Max Martin, and co-written by Coldplay and BTS, the two groups announced the news of the single on Twitter.
Additionally, two TikTok teaser videos for the new single was released earlier today, on the 14th September, in the early morning.
The first one was by Coldplay, who uploaded a video of everyone, BTS included, in the studio as they record the forthcoming single.
The second video on TikTok was uploaded by BTS. A similar clip with a different angle but using what appears to be the studio version of ‘My Universe’.
The single ‘My Universe’ is set to release on Friday 24th September, which will be sung in both English and Korean.
It will also appear on Coldplay’s upcoming album called ‘Music Of The Spheres’. The release date for the album is 15th October.
Fans have been hoping for a collaboration for months, particularly after BTS covered one of Coldplay’s songs called ‘Fix You’.
After the successful cover and the positive praise from Coldplay themselves, fans have been waiting for the two groups to team up. This expectation was further backed up by the attendance of BTS members RM and J-Hope at the Coldplay concert back in 2017.
Coldplay are well known for not allowing just anyone to cover their music, which is why BTS’ cover of ‘Fix You’ was not only a big hit, but also a sign for the fans that there may be something in store for them in the future.
Now that the announcements of the single have been made, ‘My Universe’ is already available to pre-save while a CD single is available for pre-order.
