Best Ice Skating Places in Europe

By  |

Trips to Europe are not only popular in the summer season, but also when winter arrives; in fact, now is the time when the fun begins by going to amazing and popular ice skating rinks across all of Europe! It does not matter if you are a beginner or a pro, try visiting one of the following recommended places and see how you feel in some of the most picturesque rinks you can find.

Somerset House, UK

One of the prettiest places to skate, this elegant outdoor experience offers a skating school for those willing to practice, and a wide space to skate around with your friends and family.

Kungsträdgården, Sweden

This park is in the centre of Stockholm, which is a beautiful city especially during this time of the year. The great atmosphere with the several stands of hot drinks and food add to the fun experience of ice skating.

Vienna, Austria

The outdoor ice rink is located right outside the illuminated City Hall, nearby some stalls offering hot drinks and snacks, as well as background music ranging from pop to traditional waltz.

Hotel de Ville, Paris, France

The city’s outdoor ice skating rink has become a symbol of a wintery Paris, and though there are long queues, the wait is worth the fantastic experience of skating under twinkling fairy lights and Christmas market stalls surrounding you.

Munich Ice Magic, Germany

The city’s largest open-air ice rink attracts many tourists, specifically those who are fans of the October beer festivals, but that is not the only thing Munich is known for, as during this time of year, ice rinks are the go-to place for everyone!

If you are based anywhere near these fantastic places, make sure you visit and plan an outing date with friends or family; however, if you are nowhere near these places, why not plan a trip instead? There is no better time to go away for the weekend or even a day to enjoy yourself after a week of hard work.
