Benefits of Vitamin C and different ways to boost intake

Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is one of the most essential and recommended vitamins that everyone should be taking. It is beneficial for growth, development, and repair of all body tissues. It is involved in many body functions, including formation of collagen, absorption of iron, functioning of the immune system, wound healing, and the maintenance of cartilage, bones, and teeth. With such a wide variety of benefits, vitamin C is very good for everyone, however, how can we boost our intake without having too much or too little? Sometimes, it can be difficult to keep track of how much you should be taking, as well as the different methods of improving the vitamin C intake.
As vitamin C cannot be stored in the body, it is vital to have it as part of your daily diet; and with a wide variety of fruits and vegetables that are a good source of vitamin C, it is not difficult to achieve this. Some of the fruits and vegetable include citrus fruit like oranges and orange juice, peppers, strawberries, blackcurrants, broccoli, brussels sprouts, and potatoes.
At the same time, it is important to watch out for an overload of vitamin C, as this may lead to stomach pain, diarrhoea, and flatulence. With a 65mg to 90mg recommended daily amount of vitamin C for adults, it should not be too difficult to avoid taking too much, however, if you feel that you are not getting enough, then it is suggested to start taking supplements in order to meet the required amount of vitamin C intake.

Taking vitamin C in other forms, such as solid pills, liquid capsules, or as gummies can be just as good as eating the right fruits and vegetables. Simply go to the nearest drugstore or a shop that sells vitamins, and pick out how much vitamin C you think you require, as well as in what form you would prefer it in. A good suggestion is to keep a good diet, and at the same time, take a medium or low strength vitamin C in order to achieve the best results and benefits.
Some of the other great benefits that vitamin C has is that it contains antioxidant properties, which fights compounds known as free radicals that can cause damage in the body and contribute to inflammation, heart disease and other conditions. Vitamin C acts as an antioxidant and destroys the free radicals in the body. Additionally, vitamin C is important for collagen production, a key component of skin health because it helps the skin repair itself after injury and maintain its flexibility.
With so many benefits from vitamin C, it is clear why this is such an important vitamin required daily, so make sure you are on top of the daily intake and if you want, take the extra supplements by getting pills, capsules or gummies.
