10 Tips On How To Use A Planner To Raise Organisation Skills

Buying a planner or a diary can be tempting, as the satisfaction of having your life completely organised into your planner is very appealing; however, it can be a struggle keeping up over a long period of time, especially for those people who are just starting out. That is why I have found some of the best top 10 tips for you to follow in order to help you stay really organised, keep productive in your work or everyday tasks, and to help you manage your time better, whether that is for work or your personal life.

Use categories
Rather than having just one big section for everything on a daily basis, keep a category for work, plans with friends and family, and personal.
Use a planner with a calendar
That way you will be able to schedule in your appointments, plans, important events, birthdays, etc.
Add goals for the end of the week
Try to work towards something every week, as this will help you work and complete tasks better, making full use of your planner.
Time your tasks
Divide up the easy and more difficult tasks and give yourself a time limit to help you complete everything on time, rather than ending up rushing and leaving it for the last minute.
Be consistent
Use coloured pens, tape, stickers, and anything you want to make it more appealing and satisfying to use your planner. You want to make sure you look forward to using it, rather than getting bored at some point and forgetting to note things down. The key is consistency.
Keep everything in one planner
There is no point writing or noting things down on your phone or elsewhere when you have a planner. If anything comes up, write it in your planner. Always keep it with you and update it throughout the day.
Take a few minutes every day to check your planner
At least once a day, it is important to review what you have completed and what more you have to do. This is important in terms of keeping yourself and your life organised.
Use the rock, pebble and sand technique
The rocks are the most important tasks that you must get done in your day, the pebbles are important tasks that you should get done, and the sand are the smaller tasks that you would like to complete.
Take it everywhere you go
Make sure it is always at hand to check and to update when something comes up or gets changed
To do lists
If it helps, you can have a to do list within your life to order the tasks that you need to complete, no matter how big or small. They can be split into difficult and easy, or you can order them however you find most suitable for you.
