Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift Release Duet “The Joker And The Queen”

Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift have released a new track called “The Joker And The Queen”, this comes 10 years after their first collaboration with the song “Everything Has Changed”; the story in the music video released at midnight on Friday the 11^th of February is a continuation from their “Everything Has Changed” track, which features the same actors but all grown up as 18-year-olds now!

“The Joker And The Queen” is from Ed Sheeran’s 2021 album called ‘=’; the duet remix version of the song featuring Taylor Swift was released at midnight just today and everyone is loving the reunion of Ava James and Jack Lewis, who were the child actors that played Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran in “Everything Has Changed”. Now, ten years later, the actors are grown up and returned to play the grown-up versions in the new music video for “The Joker And The Queen”.

This new track marks Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift’s fourth collaboration, which started with “Everything Has Changed”, to “End Game”, and then “Run”. Ed Sheeran wrote on Instagram, saying, “Me and Taylor first met and wrote + recorded our first song together in 2012, ten years ago now, I’m so so honoured to have her on this song. Not only is she the best singer/songwriter in the world but she’s also a very close friend, I’m very lucky to have her in my life. For the music video we got the kids from our song ‘Everything Has Changed’, all grown up and off to college now!”

Ed Sheeran performed the solo version of “The Joker And The Queen” at the BRIT Awards, where he was nominated for four awards; unfortunately, he lost to Adele for three of the nominations, but left the event ceremony with the Songwriter of the Year award. One of the highlights of the BRIT Awards on the 8^th of February included Ed Sheeran’s confirmation that his next single was coming out on Friday (today) “and it’s with Taylor Swift”, adding it with, “we’re literally announcing that in like an hour”.
